Best Expense-Splitting Apps in Saudi Arabia (2026)

Eight apps, stated criteria, and a “best for” on each instead of a made-up ranking. Splitaha is in the list, judged by the same criteria.

By The Splitaha teamPublished Last updated 12 min read

Splitaha is our own product. It is not yet released and is iPhone-only, and we list it by the same criteria as the others. We did not hands-on test the other apps; facts come from their App Store listings and websites as of 29 October 2026. We do not rank or score the apps: each gets a best-for and its drawbacks.

The short answer

  • For Arabic, free and simple: Tricount lists Arabic among its languages and describes itself as free and unlimited with no ads. Mushrook is a new app from AKA Tech Solutions Company with Arabic in its listing; it lists reading the ZATCA QR code and splitting by item.
  • For richer features if English is fine: Settle Up, SplitterUp, Spliit, Splid and Splitwise are mature or feature-rich, but per the App Store none lists Arabic.
  • Splitaha: best for groups who want an Arabic-first iPhone app with halala-exact SAR splits and free, unlimited groups, balances, settlements and expenses in SAR. It is not released yet, and it is iPhone-only.

Apps are listed alphabetically by name. App Store data is as of 29 October 2026 and changes daily; use the source links.

How we chose and compared

Method first, so you can judge it. We pictured an everyday Saudi user: an istiraha night with friends, a trip to Abha, the office lunch, a colleague's gift. Then we asked what actually matters to them.

Our method

Date checked
29 October 2026.
Sources
Each app's Saudi App Store page (languages, in-app purchase list, rating and count) and its developer's site where cited. For example Tricount (external link) and Mushrook (external link).
Criteria
Arabic interface; riyal and currency conversion; how useful the free plan is; availability (platforms and age); receipt scanning and itemizing; recurring expenses and export.
What the meters mean
The three-segment meter beside each criterion shows how fully the app covers it as its own source describes it. It is not a score. Anything we could not confirm says “not checked” or “not mentioned”.
Order
No ranking and no winner. Apps are listed alphabetically by name. We show no stars and no ratings of our own.
What we did not do
We did not install or hands-on test the apps. We did not check the quality of any Arabic translation or right-to-left layout.
Ratings
Where we mention a rating, it is the rating and count on the Saudi App Store as of 29 October 2026. It changes daily.

We left out Baseeta: it is a buy-now-pay-later service, not an expense-splitting app. Our inclusion rule: an app needs a genuine shared-expense feature set (groups, splits, balances) and enough facts on its own listing to check, such as languages, platforms, price and update date. Ratings are not part of the rule: Mushrook, with one rating, is in because its listing says enough to verify. We did not assess other very new apps with a handful of ratings whose listings gave too few verifiable facts.

How to choose for your situation

There is no single best app, only the one that suits your group. Work through these steps.

  1. Decide what language your group reads

If some of you aren't comfortable in English, start with the apps that list Arabic: Tricount, Mushrook and Splitaha. Then try the interface yourself; we didn't check translation quality for any of them.
  2. Confirm riyals work before you commit

Most apps say “all currencies” or “100+ currencies”, but we didn't check that SAR is in the picker for Splitwise or Tricount. Open the currency list and add a test expense.
  3. Estimate how many expenses you log a day

A trip can easily hit ten expenses in a day. Splitwise allows four a day on Free, while Splitaha has no daily limit and Tricount describes its plan as unlimited. Factor that in before the trip.
  4. Ask whether you need receipt scanning and item splits

Many Saudi receipts carry a QR code. Mushrook lists reading it, SplitterUp and Splitwise (in Pro) scan receipts, and in Splitaha scanning and itemizing are in Pro. If you mostly split evenly, you may not need it.
  5. Check recurring and export for rent and subscriptions

Rent and internet repeat. Settle Up, SplitterUp and Spliit mention recurring expenses, and in Splitaha it is a Pro feature. If you want a sheet for your own accounts, look at export.
  6. Check devices and age

If anyone in your group is on Android, Splitaha and Mushrook are out for now. The newest apps (Mushrook, SplitterUp, Spliit) have few or no ratings. Try one with a small group before moving everyone.

Where Splitaha fits, honestly

Splitaha isn't released yet, so we don't place ourselves in any order. What we will say: if you want an Arabic-first iPhone app, halala-exact splits so the shares match the bill, and free, unlimited groups, balances, settlements and expenses in SAR, it is worth waiting for. If you need something that works today or Android, Tricount (external link) or another app here suits you better right now.

The advanced features (49 currencies, scanning, recurring, export) are in Pro; see the pricing page. To correct anything about any app here, email support@splitaha.com.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free app to split expenses in Saudi Arabia?
We don't pick a winner. Tricount describes itself on the App Store as free and unlimited with no ads, and Mushrook is free with no in-app purchases; both list Arabic. Read each card and try one with a small group.
Which of these apps have an Arabic interface?
Per the Saudi App Store language lists as of 29 October 2026: Tricount, Mushrook and Splitaha (after release). Splitwise, Settle Up, Splid, SplitterUp and Spliit do not list Arabic. We did not check translation quality.
Does Splitwise support Arabic?
Not in the iPhone app, per its App Store language list (12 languages without Arabic). We did not check Android or the web.
Do these apps handle riyals?
Most say all currencies or 100+ or 150+ currencies, but we didn't verify that SAR is in the picker for Splitwise, Tricount and others. Open the currency list before you rely on one.
Do these apps move money between friends?
In the pages we read, none moves money within Saudi Arabia. Splitwise Pay is for US residents only, per its page (external link). Splitaha doesn't move money either; it records balances and settlements.
Is Splitaha the best app?
We make no such claim. It isn't released yet, it is iPhone-only, and it is SAR-only on the free plan. It is best for groups who want an Arabic-first app with halala-exact SAR splits.
