Best Expense-Splitting Apps in Saudi Arabia (2026)
Eight apps, stated criteria, and a “best for” on each instead of a made-up ranking. Splitaha is in the list, judged by the same criteria.

Arabic, riyals, free-plan limits and the Pro plans on both sides. A comparison built on checkable numbers, including the places where Splitwise is ahead.
We make Splitaha, so this comparison comes from an interested party. That is why every Splitwise fact below links to its own page, and why one section is devoted to where Splitwise beats us. Splitwise is a trademark of its owner; we are not affiliated with it.
The short answer
If you need Android or the web, Splitwise is the option today. (Splitwise facts checked 28 October 2026; they change, so use the source links.)
Try a split before you decide
The calculator below runs on the app's own engine, with no sign-up. If you like it, join the waitlist for one email on release day.
An istiraha night (a rented rest-house evening with friends), a trip to Abha, the office lunch on Thursday, a gift for a colleague that six people chip in for. Someone pays, and then the arithmetic starts.
Plenty of apps split bills, and Splitwise is the best known. It is a good app and we will not pretend otherwise. But “which fits” depends on context, and ours is Saudi: the language your group reads, the currency, how people pay, and how often you log expenses. We compared them on numbers we can document, and linked every Splitwise number to a page you can check.
Method first, so you can judge it yourself.
Four columns, because each app has a free and a paid tier and a fair comparison sets each next to its counterpart.

“Not compared” means we found nothing documented on Splitwise's official pages. Sources for every Splitwise cell are in the method section.
This is the first difference anyone notices, so let us be straight about it. Splitwise lets a free user add up to 4 expenses a day (external link), and Pro removes the limit. Splitaha has no daily limit: free users can add as many expenses as they like.
That makes Splitaha more generous here. For many groups 4 a day is plenty, but a trip or a busy istiraha can go past it.
With no cap on Splitaha, nobody has to count or wait for a reset.
At Splitwise's limit, its help center (external link) offers three ways out: subscribe to Pro, wait for the reset, or ask a friend to add the expense.
An istiraha night often has several bills (rent, dinner, charcoal), and a weekend in AlUla can easily reach five expenses in a day. On Splitaha the free plan covers both. Pro, including the 10 SAR week, becomes relevant for a trip abroad, where you need other currencies with conversion, or when you want receipt scanning.
Splitwise's iPhone app supports twelve languages according to its App Store listing (external link), and Arabic is not one of them. That does not mean it fails in Saudi Arabia; it means menus and messages arrive in a language other than yours. We did not verify Android or the web, so we say nothing about them.
It is a practical matter. If someone in your group is not at ease in English, the app ends up belonging to one person, who logs everything and chases everyone. Splitaha is right-to-left Arabic by default, not a mode you switch on.
The riyal is the base currency, and the maths runs in whole halalas, never floating-point fractions. A 100 SAR bill between three people comes out as 33.34, 33.33 and 33.33, so the leftover halala is assigned and the total equals the bill exactly.
We do not move money. We record how a settlement was made: cash, bank transfer, STC Bank or urpay. Splitwise Pay (external link), by its own page, is for US residents, and we found no Saudi payment integration in Splitwise's help pages.
We are not claiming these exist nowhere else. We are saying they are all here, in Arabic and in riyals.
Balances are worked out from expenses and settlements every time they are shown, so they always match what was recorded.
A mistaken expense is reversed and stays in the history, so no one's balance changes behind their back. Reversed it by accident? You can restore it.
Instead of everyone paying everyone, the app suggests the shortest way to clear the group.
Add a friend by name and they can hold a balance before they install anything; they claim it later through an email invite. No phone numbers, no invite links.
If a Pro subscription lapses, nothing you already have is hidden or deleted. Only new Pro actions stop.

Leftover halalas are distributed across participants so the shares add up to the bill exactly.
Splitaha records balances and settlements only; the money moves outside the app. To save groups and track balances with other people you need an account inside the app.

A comparison without this section would not be honest. Here is where Splitwise is ahead today:
Pick the app your whole group can read comfortably. A shared tab only works if everyone shares it.
So why do we still think Splitaha fits Saudi groups better? Because the question here is less often “how many expenses can I add” and more often “can everyone read this app, and does it count in riyals and halalas”. If your answer differs, Splitwise is a respectable choice.
Splitaha Pro adds 49 currencies (including SAR) with conversion, receipt scanning and itemized split, trends and charts, search and filters, AI tools, recurring expenses and CSV export. The annual plan starts with a 14-day free trial, then 400 SAR a year; there is also 10 SAR a week, or 1,000 SAR once for life, all through Apple. Prices are as shown in the App Store and may vary slightly.
Splitwise Pro, per its own page (external link), adds unlimited expenses, currency conversion, charts, receipt scanning and itemization, and expense search. Its plans, per the help center (external link), are annual (for one person or two) and monthly.
On price: in the Saudi App Store, Splitwise's in-app purchases are listed from SAR 11.99 to SAR 199.99 (checked 28 Oct 2026 (external link)); Splitwise doesn't publish which price maps to which plan, so we can't line the plans up one to one. Splitaha Pro is 400 SAR a year after the trial, 10 SAR a week, or 1,000 SAR once. The feature lists are close; the differences are language, the riyal and plan options: we also offer weekly and lifetime.
